Taking the EASYWAY

So Jeremy gave me a copy of The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. He read it in one afternoon and quit that day. So I'm following in his footsteps. I've started reading it, but keep getting distracted doing other things and haven't had time to finish it.

I've been smoking for about 3 and a half years now. And I've stopped for a couple months a few times, but always get drawn back in to it. This time I hope it's different.
From what I've heard from Jeremy and other people who have read this book, it's easy to quit once you know how. So I'll let you guys know how it goes!

Wish me luck!

Breakfast with a friend.

This morning I did something I haven't done in years. One of my best friend's Jeremy Jaramillo called me at about 8:30, which is not a normal happening. He said he was close to my place and was gonna stop by and we'd should go get a coffee. He came over and we were sitting at my desk just shootin' the shit, listening to my favorite rapper Jay-Z.

"We should go get breakfast" said Jeremy. I looked up at him a little confused, but said sure. So we ended up going to Egg Works, which was great! As we were walking outside I pulled out my typical after meal cigarette and Jeremy gave me a dirty look, he quit smoking 6 days ago. We were talking and I said I think once our lives become a bit more stable we should go to breakfast once a week. Jeremy, our friend Julio and myself.

So we'll see what life has in store for my friends and I, but hopefully we all get the jobs and lives we're working towards!

ps. Thank you for breakfast Jeremy!

Getting my life in order! Taking Penelope Trunk's advice!

This is my first time trying blogging. I recently listened to podcast of  Penelope Trunk being interviewed. What she had to say really made me examine the life I'm living and the kind of work I'm looking for. After listening to her words of wisdom I figured I should take her advice. I'm now looking at "work" in a different way: I'm trying to figure out what kind of life I want to live, not what kind of job I want.

So this blog is about how I've put myself on what my mom call's "The Upgrade Plan."
My sister has gotten her life on the right track and has a great job living a life she's enjoying.
